Knitting in the Round

Ready to take your knitting off the straight and narrow? In this one-time class, you’ll learn how to knit in the round, an essential skill for making hats, cowls, sleeves, socks, and seamless sweaters.

We’ll cover how to join your work without twisting, keep track of the beginning of your round, read your knitting, and confidently work in a continuous circle. You’ll get plenty of hands-on practice and leave ready to tackle your first in-the-round project.

Skill level: Adventurous beginner. Students should already be comfortable casting on and working knit and purl stitches.

About the instructor: Joy Blaser

I’ve been knitting for 18 years and love everything from cables and colorwork to brioche, but socks will always be my favorite project. I happily choose fingering-weight yarn and tiny needles over bulky knits every time! I’m passionate about making timeless, well-crafted pieces using natural fibers, especially yarns that can be sourced close to home. I love helping knitters build confidence, learn new techniques, and discover the satisfaction of creating something beautiful with their own hands.
