Ready to learn to knit from the very beginning? 🧶✨ Join us for a complete beginner knitting class designed to take the mystery out of needles, yarn, and patterns in a warm, welcoming environment.
Together, we’ll cover the foundations of knitting step by step, including how to read a yarn label, understand a pattern, choose the right needles and yarn for a project, and build confidence with the basic skills every knitter needs. You’ll also receive one-on-one guidance as you work through and complete your very first project.
Students will create either a cozy baby blanket or a practical pot holder to take home and proudly say, “I made this.” 💛
No experience necessary, just bring a willingness to learn and we’ll help with the rest!
This class will meet 4 times: 6/11, 6/18, 6/25, and 7/2, from 1pm-3pm each time.Â
About the instructor Karen Johnson:Â
Knitting has been one of the most fun, relaxing, calming, and rewarding parts of my life for more than 50 years. I’ve always loved crafting, but knitting and crochet are the crafts my heart always comes back to. I learned to crochet first, then discovered knitting a few years later, and the rest is history.
Before COVID, I attended many retreats, classes, and fiber festivals, including Rhinebeck, Maryland Sheep & Wool, SAFF, and Stitches events, where I connected with an incredible community of makers and formed lifelong friendships. One of my greatest joys has been sharing my love of knitting with others and helping people discover the creativity, comfort, and sense of accomplishment that comes from making something with your own hands.
Knitting is more than a hobby to me. It’s a lifelong passion, a creative outlet, and a meaningful way to connect with others.
